PARIS-TANGER-DAKAR 1993

Never a manufacturer to rest on its laurels, Mitsubishi entered the Pajeros into the 15th "Dakar" with the same level of commitment as ever, even thought the final blow to all opposition had been completely and decisively delivered the year before with the Great Cape Town Victory followed by the incredible dominance by the Pajero in the epic Paris- Moscow-Beijing Rally. Only 12 weeks after the race across Russia and China, the team was ready for action again in the 15th "Dakar", this time reverting to a more familiar format, finishing in Senegal once more. One hundred and fifty two competitors entered on this occasion for an event which covered nearly 9,000 km and was hailed as one of the fastest ever. Again, the headline victory went elsewhere, but like an unstoppable machine that swept all before it, Mitsubishi dominated the podium with three Pajeros in the top four headed by Weber who was followed by Saby and Shinozuka.
